Daily, you will

  • Encourage business development by implementing promotions, training staff to reach goals, bring in new business, and coordinate special events.
  • An ability to understand, acknowledge, and adaptable to changes within the branch and the organization.
  • Conduct huddles and one-on-one meetings for staff training and progression.
  • Provide coaching through one-on-one meetings and observing conversations to promote good sales conversations.
  • Resolve member issues regarding their existing financial products (checking, savings, credit cards, loans, etc.).
  • Provide solutions based on training and available resources.
  • Step in and help the team through peak hours.

Summary:

Plans, directs, organizes, and controls operational activities and staff of the branch in order to have complete financial oversight, ensure profitability, and accountability over all aspects of the branch’s operations. Manages a branch with more than one, but fewer than eight, team members; and without an assigned branch supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and performs functions as needed of branch staff including Teller, New Accounts, and Lending duties within policies and procedures and security measures to protect the membership and avoid losses to the Credit Union.
  • Ensures the application of and compliance with established operating policies and procedures within the department, including reviewing updates with branch staff to ensure appropriate knowledge and compliance.
  • Assists in the establishment of branch goals and sales objectives, initiates actions to achieve the goals, ensures team members are trained and are consistently held accountable for achieving goals, sales objectives and the delivery of Superior Service, and assists in monitoring branch operating and sales results relative to established objectives
  • Solves issues within the branch in relation to member, team member and operational issues.
  • Promotes excellent member and public relations by interacting with sponsor employer groups (SEGs) and maintaining contacts, and developing relationships through prospecting and cross-selling.
  • Establishes, facilitates, and maintains proactive communications with the Regional Branch Manager, other departments, and branches.
  • Attends scheduled management meetings.
  • As a member of the Management Team, assists in the formulation/execution of Credit Union policies, objectives, programs, and promotions.
  • Ensures satisfactory branch audits, including cash and negotiable items, security, and operational processes.
  • Oversees balancing activities including ATMs, Cash Dispensing Machines (CDMs), etc, maintains control of vault combinations and alarm security codes and making appropriate recommendations to change security codes as necessary.
  • Ensures branch facility, branch equipment, and software is up to date and ready to serve the membership; contacts appropriate parties for any maintenance, service, and repairs; ensures branch contains proper inventory and supplies.
  • Conducts weekly branch meetings to inform team members of operational updates, new promotions, and procedures.
  • Ensures that the branch’s needs are met concerning the employment, counseling, Performance Evaluations, timecards, scheduling, training, and motivation, and developmental plans and performance expectations are set, reviewed, and achieved.
  • Ensures full compliance with UNIFY Financial Credit Union Service Standards, policies, and procedures; and with the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of five years related branch management experience in a financial institution including communicating and promoting corporate mission and vision, team and business development, coaching, mentoring, delegating, leading, problem solving, and working through employment challenges.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Credit Union (financial institution) services, products, procedures, and lending.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals and groups and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
