Let's talk level crossings! Across Australia and the world, there exist various types of level crossings, all of which mandate adherence to the same road rule requirement, namely, stopping. This requirement applies to both red stop signs and flashing lights. Unfortunately, there is still a number public members that appear to struggle with following this rule, and fails to comprehend the impact it has on our drivers. What may seem like a few saved seconds to you can result in years of traumatic experiences for rail employees. The solution is simple: comply with the road rules

Expect the Unexpected. The TrackSAFE Foundation theme this year for #railsafetyweek.Whether you're a commuter, or a rail professional, this theme serves as a powerful reminder. In a world full of surprises, preparing for the unforeseen is a responsibility we all share. Here are a few ways we can actively contribute to rail safety:Stay Alert: Whether you're at a railway station, onboard a train, or near railway tracks, being vigilant and attentive can make a big difference. Always expect the unexpected and remain aware of your surroundings.Follow Procedures: Rail safety protocols exist for a reason. Adhering to rules and guidelines helps safeguard everyone's well-being. Let's encourage one another to respect these protocols and ensure a secure and safe rail environment. The over 500 drivers who have experienced near misses and trespasser incidents in the past year thank you.#railsafetyweek #expectheunexpected #limitdistractions #watchoutfortrains #haveasafeone

As an organisation with people working in the rail corridor every day, we care deeply about their safety, and the safety of all rail users. That’s why we’re supporting #RailSafetyWeek and TrackSAFE Foundation’s mission to reduce accidents and injuries on the rail network. Collisions and near collisions at railway crossings are ongoing issues that put lives at risk. Between 2016 and 2022, there were an average of 84 fatalities per year, or 7 per month, plus many injuries and near misses. Rail Safety Week reminds us all to take care in an around the rail network. Whether you are a pedestrian, passenger, driver or worker, remember trains can come any time, day or night and they can’t swerve or stop quickly. Always obey level crossings, signs and signals and always check for trains in both directions. Find out more about how you can stay rail safe at https://lnkd.in/e3Dm6zUT #RailSafetyWeek #RSW23 #trainscantswerve #expecttheunexpected

As contractors within the UK Rail sector, we are honoured to continuously get to work on improving station facilities for passengers. On March 4th, theOffice of Rail and Road (ORR) published their "Improving the reliability ofpassenger assistance" report with findings of cross-industry relevance from ORR-commissioned audits of five train operators. Some of the identified key areas of focus for the industry looked to drive improvement in the delivery of assistance for disabled passengers. TheORR's commissioned audits looked into five operators, including GTR (Govia Thameslink Railway), Greater Anglia, London North Eastern Railway, who were chosen as a representative sample of the whole industry. Findings concluded that satisfaction levels with booked assistance are high, with over 90% satisfaction with the end-to-end assistance process! We are honoured to work within a sector and with client companies that truly prioritise passenger assistance and pioneer for growth and improvement to ensure they continue to deliver a passenger experience that is truly inclusive and assisting to all.
