Randleman, NC 27317. The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. WINCHESTER James Winchester, 86, of Dublin, Saturday, May 17, 2003 at his residence. Born May 27, 1917 in Westborne, TN, an Eastern TN coal mining community. His father, was infact a coal minor.

In 1927, at the age of 10, Gene became hooked on aeronautics. At age 19 with the encouragement of his mother, Flora Conley, he went to Glendale, CA and enrolled in Curtis Wright Technical School to study aerounautical engineering. After graduating he worked for Curtis Wright Aircraft in St. Louis. He married Amelia of Vicksburg, MS in 1940.

After many moves in the aeronautics industry and the birth of their first five children, he decided to put down roots in Columbus, OH, where they had their sixth child. In 1952, he left the air craft industry and started QUIKRETE Co. He patented a machine that dry blended the QUIKRETE mixes and pro- ceded to build 70 plants throughout the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and South America. Gene was Founder and Chairman of the Board of QUIKRETE Companies. He was on the Board of Directors of Brookside Country Club and The Country Club of Muirfield and a member of Murifield Village Country Club.

Founding President of Package Concrete Manufacture Association. Former member of St. Michael Church, Worthington and St. Peter Church, Columbus and a member of St. Brigid of Kildare Church, Dublin.

Sr. and Clara Biehler Schladen- hauffen, he was born on September 1, 1913 in West Springfield, Mass. Ben started life on the Schladenhauffen Dairy farm of his Parents and Grandparents. The Schladenhauffens were founding fathers of West Springfield, Mass. Ben served his country as an Aviation Machinist Mate in the U.S.

Navy. He saw the earliest development of what became modern naval aviation. He continued to serve his country as a civilian during World War II, developing engines for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Corp. Ben was one of a few civilians requested to assist in the development of aircraft engines at Edwards Air Force Base. Post World War II, he continued to work as an aeronautical engineer, first, for American Airlines and later for Lockheed Aircraft Corp.

Tom Spies, the Spies Nutritional Research Clinic in Birmingham. Their work included discoveries of Niacin, Folic Acid and vitamin B-12, cures for pellagra and types of anemia. They pioneered the use of multi-vitamin supplements and fortification of foods, saving and enriching lives. Post-retirement, Mrs. Dill pursued a writing and teaching career.

She was an active member of the Atlanta Club, the Copper Pennies Writing Club and taught creative writing classes at Emory and Life Enrichment. be remembered as a mentor, an inspiration, fun loving, an extraordinary mother, and the unique of Ground Hog Day cards. Her husband, Stephen Dill, and daughter, Marilyn (Mimi) Nyberg are deceased. She is survived by daughter, Sharon Kaufman of Marietta; granddaughters, Samantha, Christine, Lesley, Bonnie and Rebecca, great grandchildren, Paul, Kimberly, William and Danny, greatgreat grandson, Dalton.
