The 2024 National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference was excellent! Shout out to the Institute for Educational Leadership for assembling amazing breakout sessions facilitated by Education Scholars from all over the country. I spent these days building, networking, learning, and growing alongside colleagues from all over the US and some of my FCS family. We are coming back inspired to continue to lead our students to success.

I had a great experience in Leadership Forsyth (LF). I am now a proud Leadership Forsyth Class of 2024 alumni. LF is a leadership development program that provides training to people at all levels of their leadership journey. If you have the opportunity to participate in your community’s leadership program I encourage you to do so. It’s an impactful experience that fosters community, strengthens networks, and inspires you to lead.

February was nothing short of cultural experiences at FCS. The 2nd annual Lunar New Year display at FoCAL was a success thanks to our community support and partners in Education Pearl Cai and Angie Lee.

I'm a little late posting about this memorable event, THE LONGEST TABLE, our Inaugural Black History Month Luncheon. It was Phenomenal!! We collaborated with the Forsyth Descendent Scholarship to bring our School Administrators and Community members together for collaborative conversations on building a community of belonging. If you missed this years' luncheon, No worries we will be back next year and expanding the table!! Hope to see you there!

As we come to a close to Women History month, I like to thank all the leaders who participated in our Inaugural HEReos event. We heard from Women actively serving in leadership roles within Professional Sports, Education, STEM, Business, Healthcare, Law and Govt., Entrepreneurship and Media. Some takeaways from HEReos "Believe in yourself, lean into your talents, fail forward, and challenges bring growth.”

The Linking Leaders:Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Summit facilitated by @classlink was inspiring. This work can be taxing at times and lonely but worth the journey. It was great to connect in this space with other Metro-Atlanta leaders.

Forsyth County Schools (Georgia) and Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce 2nd annual Hispanic Heritage month reception united the community with an celebratory evening complete with live music, poetry slam readings in Spanish by Forsyth Central High School (Georgia) students, and recognition awards. Epic evening! One of the favorite parts of my role is spotlighting our students.

Recap from my work week. It was Incredible! Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce held the 2nd annual Inclusion Incubator Conference at Forsyth County Schools (Georgia) FoCAL Center. A great conference with quality speakers and full engagement. The collaboration between FoCAL Center and Beth Israel Congregation brought an evening of hope by hosting Holocaust survivor, The Honey Girl of Auschwitz, Esther Bausch, who shared her story of survival and forgiveness. She’s a great storyteller.
