Mrs. Owen was born Mar. 12, 1910 in Marengo County, the daughter of the late Silas Pope and Sallie Mae Tucker Pope. She attended Dixon Mill area schools and graduate of the Selma Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She was formerly a registered nurse at King Memorial Hospital and had been a resident of Somerville, since 1985.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church near Somerville and was the wife of Samuel Fleming Owen Jr. who died Oct. 16, 1968. John Moren Rotenberry John Moren Rotenberry, 85, of Troy, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001 at his home.

She was appointed in 1972 by Governor George C.

Wallace to the Alabama Dairy commission and served for seven years and at that time was the only female to serve as its chairman. Mrs. Richardson was active in Perry County in the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association and served as a member of the boards of both organizations. She was a member of United Methodist Church. C.H.A.S.M.
